We’ve answered the most common queries we get about this range so that you can make an informed decision about your next fence.

What is HardieFence made of?

It is made of compressed fibre cement product. The sheets come with a metal top cap to secure the line of fence. The compressed cement is weather, termite, rot, and fire resistant (information supplied by the James Hardie website). Fibre cement was developed in the 1980’s as an asbestos-free cement-based building product that lasts. It contains a mixture of cellulose fibre (from pine trees), Portland cement, sand, water, and minor additives.

Where to buy HardieFence?

There are a number of suppliers in WA who offer HardieFence but it’s easy to get bogged down comparing prices from suppliers and installers. At Jim’s Fencing, we supply and install fencing solutions for customers all around Australia. We order all materials straight from the manufacturer in the quantities you need to eliminate all unnecessary expenses. Let our team coordinate material orders and delivery while you get on with your life.

Colorbond Vs HardieFence?

At Jim’s Fencing, we offer both Colorbond and HardieFence styles. They are both fantastic materials to use for fencing but because they have similar selling points people often compare the two. If you are tossing up between the two styles, please give us a call to discuss your options. Both HardieFences and Colorbond fences can keep pests out of your property. The HardieFence extends up to 600mm into the ground, pests (like snakes and rabbits) will find it difficult to enter your property. It also helps to prevent your dog from digging under the fence. Although Colorbond fences aren’t dug into the ground all the way along the perimeter, our team can install plinth boards to close the gap. Colorbond fences come in a range of colours whereas HardieFence panels can be painted with your colour choice. This is really handy when your neighbour wants to choose a different colour - you can just paint each side. Both Colorbond and HardieFence are resistant to fire, corrosion, rot, and termites. One of the main issues with HardieFence is that it is exclusively available in WA. If you’re located outside Western Australia, take a look at our Colourbond fencing services. This fencing style comes with a 10-year manufacturer warranty.
